  • The city centre offering from the huge chain which started in Greater Manchester, Yates’s is very popular with the alcopop and cheap drinks crowd.  Known to most as Yates’s Wine Lodge, the large bar is situated in front of Chorlton street bus station and travellers help keep it busy most nights and days.  Yates’s is also popular with diners in China Town opposite and offers a complete change of scene to the bars in the gay village, which is just around the corner.

I just love this bar, there are always good times when I come here. Girls dancing with you and the drinks are reasonable. ****

I found some of the staff to be rude and impolite and don’t look like they know what they are doing but the customers are nice and friendly. Once you get passed the bar and away from the staff it is a really good night there.

I called in later on,on a saturday night.I was served my drink in a plastic glass, considering there were a lot of plastic gangsters in there.i stood near the dj box to discover baskets of cutlery, consisting of nice big steak knives left out for anyone to handle!! stupidity in the worst sense!!
