  • Without any doubt, chaophraya is a place to make you happy. From the moment you step foot in the door, you are made to feel special by one of the many superb waiters and waitresses with a traditional Thai greeting.   Although the upstairs restaurant is quickly earning the reputation as being the best in town, we’ll concentrate on the bar here. Firstly, lets talk about seating.  You can choose from luxurious leather sofa’s, high cocktail stools or the traditional Thai sunken seating; very traditional, very, very comfortable, and very, very, very tricky to get out of after you’ve tasted the delights of the bar.  There’s wonderful Thai cocktails on offer as well as the usual classics, a fantastic wine selection and some great Asian beers.  And whilst you soak up the ambience, expect another friendly waitress in traditional dress to provide you with a complimentary tray of snacks.  In short (it’s hard to be with this place), the decor is amazing, the music is subtle, the drinks fantastic and the service second to none.  Then of course, if you choose to venture upstairs, there’s the restaurant – not only amongst the best in Manchester, but arguably amongst the best in Britain!  Wow!
  • thai theme bar
  • food (thai)
  • cocktails
  • imported bottle lager (thai and chinese)

A fantastic “new kid on the block”. The bar and the restaurant blend together seamlessly – if you’re in the bar you don’t feel that you’re in a restaurant, but you’re still only a stride or two away from an excellent meal if you fancy it. No expense has been spared in getting this place up and running and in my book it’s been money well spent.

Absolutely agree. A damn good find, and a great bar and restaurant. As soon as you walk in, you feel relaxed, and the place oozes class without being overpriced and arrogant.
A very good bar, with gorgeous food to boot.

I’ve been a big fan of since it suddenly appeared a few months ago. The main reason being I’d never heard of the Top 2 bars in your Top 10 list and I thought I’d check them out. Amazing! Now a permanent fixture on my night out.

That brings me to Chaophraya – or whatever it’s called – Thank you so much for pointing me in its direction. The best bar in Manchester bar none! And that’s from someone who hasn’t yet had the pleasure of visiting Thailand. I can’t tell you how much my best mate bored me with his stories of his Thai honeymoon. I can guarantee he’ll be back here again introducing his work colleagues and other mates to its delights.

I’ll be back here every night out have in town and I can’t wait to try the restaurant.

Thanks again and extended thanks to Chaophroya

This is my favourite restaurant in Manchester. I’m not really into spicy food but the grading system they use is brilliant for me as it means that I can avoid the hot stuff. It’s a lovely place, with a great menu and a warm, friendly staff.

Sorry…..I should have added that the bar is brilliant if you just want to have a drink or two. Very lively and comfortable!

  6. Corina Says:

I agree the restaurant and bar are a must to visit. I have been here few times and it is a place to bring your family or friends.
