  • The fifth member of the kro family, kro piccadilly is perhaps their most ambitious bar yet.  This very large bar sits dominantly on the corner of piccadilly gardens in the controversial  one piccadilly building which replaced the rose gardens made famous by the ls lowry painting.  Thankfully it was Kro, a Danish Mancunian institution, who opted for the location rather than some faceless anytown chain bar.  It’s also helped change the atmosphere of the area, bringing in the more trendy types to what was traditionally a townie part of town, where many ‘undesirables’ once hung out.  Kro Piccadilly offers a great choice in import draught and bottled beers, wine and food, with many Danish specialities on offer.
  • continental beers
  • food (danish, british) from 07:30 – 21:30

We were very impressed by Kro Piccadilly on our recent trip to Manchester. The food was excellent for a lunch time, if a little on the stingy side!

For a bar like this to stock the range of draught real ales it does can only be a good thing and one that needs to be commended and encouraged!

I was quite excitied to see a new KRO bar that wasn’t such a distance from the city centre. However I went in for a quick drink with a friend one weekday afternoon. We were waiting at the bar without acknowledgement for what must have been about 5 mins. The place was busy, but a “Hi, we’ll be with you in a couple of minutes” would have been nice. In the end we decided to leave and try our old faithful Knott Bar across town.

Don’t get me wrong I do still want to sample KRO Piccadilly (I love the concept) and hopefully this was just a teething problem that is now resolved!

I think this bar is trying to make a world record with the rudest staff in Manchester.

I’ve been here before, the food is excellent. I’ve had drinks and eaten at other bars in the Manchester area, they all were great!

despite posts to the contrary, i’ve always found staff polite helpful and friendly, especially given the pressure of their work environment……try smiling at them, always works for me!!!
