  • Not quite claiming the title of manchester’s smallest pub (that honour goes to the circus tavern, a few doors down), the grey horse inn is still tiny. A traditional real ale manchester ‘local’ you will find all sorts of friendly characters drinking here. Although it is a local, visitors are still very warmly greated by the landlord and the beer is excellent, both in choice and value. In this day of trendy lifestyle bars its great to see a good quality real pub frequented by real people, the grey horse is a must visit pub for people wanting to experience a traditional mancunian drinking institution.

Being a Southerner (and therefore used to gnat’s p beers) this is a great place to have a drink or six. Small maybe, but the quality of the beers and the friendliness of the staff (and the locals) definitely make this a must see place when in Town. I come up to see my son 2/3 times a year and a visit to the Grey Horse is always on the agenda – well worth a visit even if I do have to come from Reading to get here!
