  • Formerly Prague Five, View is an industrially themed dance venue at the top end of Canal Street. This bar gets very busy very quickly and there are often queues outside from around 9.30 at the weekend. With a more studenty atmosphere than most bars in the village, the trendy dressed clientele are averagely aged between 20 to 30 and later in the night this bar can become hot, sweaty and crowded.

I disagree with the main write up “trendy dressed people” its full of old scallies and their trollops listening to boom boom music.. snortin charlie in the toilets thinkin’ their the dogs bollocks..

View has become a safe and very friendly bar on canal street.there are door staff at view every nite and you DO NOT get all the “SCALLYS” in the toilets snorting anything. u can relax during the week and party all weekend.i love the place and i know you will too.

I payed a visit to View and felt very threatend as did six of my friends, we had all finished work and fancied a beer, it was a friday night around 21.00. The bar staff were very rude even after my friend had left him a tip and to finish our evening off my friend made a visit to the toilet and found SCALLYS dealing. Now i put this down to the manangement and feel they should clean there act up before my friends and i step foot in there again.

ive been goin in view for about 2 months now, in my opinion its the best club to go, bar staff are really friendly to me anyway, one of the bouncers is a right laugh, the other is abit miserable though, you’ll be able to tell by the look on their faces, ive been a total of about 8 times, and yeah my mates been offered coke once there, i’d say it was pretty safe and friendly, you do get people tryin to grab your bum but where dont you get that… wouldnt really agree with the mostly 20-30 year olds, cause there is quite afew “older” people, but to be honest, you wana find someone good lookin, your wastin your time lookin anywhere else

  5. Sarah Says:

Anywhere you go you get offered drugs and people are taking them so its unfair to single that out. The problem isn’t half as bad now Graham (the happy door man) works there.
Its all very well and nice tipping but if you are rude to staff they will be rude to you. Please is an easy word to use which people often dont!! Anyway if they were so rude, why tip?
As for scallies, thats a matter of your own snobbyness. There are a range of ages in too. I think people see what they want to see.
The music isn’t ‘boom boom’ either. Are you sure you weren’t in Pure?

  6. Sarah, your comments about View are spot on in our experience however we’re interested as to why you posted another review of a different bar saying that the staff there “are not friendly” when here you say “if you are rude to staff they will be rude to you”. Does that rule not apply across the board?

    Hi All,
The girl friend and myself are bi-curious and but have never taken it further. We have been having a nosey through all the reviews and all in all they are very conflicting…. All in all we are just looking for a good night out so definitely looking forward to visiting canal street…I hope skipping isn’t a pre-requisite as I haven’t done it for years, so hopefully looking straight won’t be held against us.

Any advice would be much appreciated x.
