  • Since its 2002 refurbishment Churchills has become the most popular ‘pub’ on Canal street. The clientele is a real mix and on many nights you will find a predominantly straight crowd. It is still nice to see a pub being successful in an area dominated by trendy bars and one of the great things about churchills is its entertainment, from karaoke to talent competitions. Open until 2am it can get very busy and you might find you have to queue at the weekend.

We were in Manchester last night, 30.5.08, and out of all the venues we visited I have to say that this venue was by far the best in the village. We met the owner on Tuesday night when we popped in with a friend and he is so friendly. Well done on making this a top place to spend the night. Bar staff were very friendly, especially the girl with the dreadlocks.

When down canal street, this is the place we use to start the evening of and meet up, a great place to chat, and start the evening, then better to pop back later on when its packed , as it always gets.

Great little pub. The best place to start a night on canal street.
Meet for a quiet chat, and a top place to finish a night at 2 in the morn, unless your going to a
Wicked staff, great music, and plenty of clean toilet, up and down stairs,
    10 stars 😉

  7. Johnny Says:

Not my favourite place. Very expensive drinks and very hen-party friendly. Not especially interested in gay clientele.
