  • A community venue in the village, Taurus is far more than a bar restaurant. The bar is well stocked and there is a great wine menu, the seating is comfy and the general ambiance is that of a trendy (but not overly so) new york loft apartment. The award winning menu is varied and reasonably priced, the fare being trendy bar grub with a few seasonal surprises added. One of the great things about Taurus is its ‘cultural’ basement offering various styles of performance from poetry and plays, to music and readings.

My boyfriend and i visited this bar when in manchester last Thursday afternoon. Despite my boyfriends initial reluctance to go to Canal street, we had a fabulous day there! Everyone was fun and friendly and we were made very welcome. We even had our tea there. I was very suprised how good the food was! Wow, the mussells were to die for! manager and staff were lovely! Good place, good food, good fun!

First time visit to Manchester during Gay Pride and attended a performance at Taurus my first night and had a blast. Taurus is a fine establishment with a very friendly staff and excellent food offerings (love the Bangers ‘n Mash and Club Sandwich). I frequented the Taurus bar for it’s comfort and unpretentious atmosphere. A must visit when in Manchester!
