The Sawyers ArmsThe Sawyers Arms 138 Deansgate, Manchester, M3 2RP map

  • The Sawyers Arms was Manchester’s first licenced premises. Located on the corner of Deansgate and Bridge Street, this is another of the town’s great traditional pubs with real ales on tap. They offer a nice lunchtime food menu serving through to early evening and boast various events including a karaoke night, live bands and live football – usually very busy. It’s a great pub to meet your friends after a hard day in the office or following a spending spree in the nearby designer stores.

Will be visiting Manchester for a few days soon.
Just want to know if it’s possible to view Man United matches in your pub? Do you show matches on Setanta as well as Sky Sports?

  5. Nigel Says:

Used to be a decent pub but then they did it up and put the prices up so most people stay away now. No longer have sport on (and there is a bookies opposite).

went in the sawyers arms yesterday and ordered a pint of White Star (I’ve had it and sold it before!) and it was merky! so i said can i replace it with another cask ale and the barmaid did so. the next thing i see was the barman come on the bar and ask the barmaid why the whitestar wasnt on so she told him why. he then said rubbish theres nothing wrong with it and put the ale back on sale. I then said to him are you selling that? he then said yes. think he name was simon and he had an attitude aswell. not going back here ever again. nice pub put they dont know anything about cask (And they are cask marque accredited!) Joke.

    Stay away ale drinkers
