  • Located in a railway arch just under Deansgate train station is Atlas. An unpretentious bar full of the cool city crowd. It always manages to have a great atmosphere no matter what time of the day or night you go. Popular with musicians and celebs looking to escape the more obvious choices around town, it also has a great sun terrace at the back, brilliant for those lazy summer days and warm summer nights. This funky laid back bar is definitely worth checking out.

I love this bar – great in the Summer to sit out at the back and the heaters keep you warm when the temperature outside drops. The only downside I have with this bar is the fact they feel they need to have a guy working in the toilets to offer you aftershave. some soap to wash your hands, a towel to dry your hands and a lollypop for afterwards. It isn’t needed and the sooner they get rid off this, the better!

The bouncers are very friendly and welcoming and not their to judge. They must have an easy job as the atmosphere is always great in Atlas, never trouble!

Saturday night is a good time to go too as the music is always lively. Look up above the bar and you’ll see the DJ and on some nights, a guy jamming away on his sax.

On a Sunday, it isn’t so busy, so I would suggest you skip over the road to the Knott Bar which is always great.

This is one of THE summer bars to head to. Great little terrace to sit out on when the weather permits. Even though the odd train running above breaks the calm chilled atmosphere. Cool tunes always played there and a great, good looking fashion conscious crowd.
Many a great sunny Sunday evening there on a bank holiday weekend before sampling the rest of the locks later on.

2 of my friends and me are celebrating our birthdays on Sat July 12th is it possible to book a room/area for around 30 people and if so is there a cost involved?

    Thank you.

I had a fairly good night here but it is a place to go for pre drinks and it does get a bit cramped as the night goes on but overall a decent bar.
