Not been in here in a good while. Its a great place to meet new people as it's small. You ten to share tables with people and sometimes even seats. This gets you talking to a whole variety of people in there

Great service - lovely interior, but please BLUU dont ruin it and let the same Deansgate pretentious crowd in - listen to your regular customers who enjoy coming every week - otherwise you will lose your class you have worked so hard to create. Dont understand the logic of keeping people on the street when quite clearly there are so hardly any people inside - its putting people off - do you really want that!!!

This is a bar from the past combined with a great night out. A venue that has almost everything.
I have been visiting The New Union for well over 40 (forty years). In the early years it was called "The Union", the word "New" was added to the name after many internal and external changes. The front bar, as you enter from either Canal Street or from Princess Street, has remained basically very much the same over all those years. The other two bars have been added during extension work.

This is often referred to as a "Pink" venue and although there are many gay bars in The Gay Village the Union remains one of my favourite venues. I think that the clientèle here are a great mixture of everyone from this great metropolis. You can often see all of life's great tapestry in this venue over a period of just one night, gay, bi, transgendered and all those in-between. The entertainment is there in the rear of the premises if you want to watch it and there is a area for chatting if you just want to watch life go by. There is even an old type "Snug Bar" which is a tiny place situated on the other side of the front bar and out of the way of the main area.
The New Union boasts hotel rooms above the bar and disco area from around £35.00 a night, the rooms are mainly en-suit but are not luxurious. It has a side entrance to the accommodation so there is no need to go through the main premises once you have checked in. The venue is handy for visiting all that the great night life of Manchester's famous "Gay Village" has to offer.

Went to Simple for the first time on Saturday. Loved it - Fantastic bar, very New York style vibe & decor, friendly staff etc. Didn't eat, but the menu & the food looks great.

NB. Only one bad point - the toilets! Very disappointing! I know it sounds daft but they really let Simple down - they are old and grotty and not that clean.

This is now closed down.

No shock. After the initial novelty of the girls there was not much else to write home about.
