The Hare and HoundsThe Hare and Hounds - 46 Shudehill, Manchester, M4 4AA map

  • a true working man’s manchester boozer that’s starting to enjoy a new lease of life as the shudehill interchange and redeveloped northern quarter pump new customers into what was previously a very quiet street.  the three roomed hare and hounds is a guilty treat sat between the printworks and the northern quarter’s new hub. The interior is full of football and manchester memorabilia and the upright piano is frequently played for old style singsongs. The real ale on offer is excellent and the landlord and landlady are friendly.
  • traditional pub

This place is great although if you’re under 30 its a bit daunting to step in there. Once inside, though, its a great old-style pub for us working classes.

  2. Noddy Says:

This is one of the handful of really traditional pubs in Manchester, still full of locals rather than adopted by visitors to the city. As an under 30 I agree with The Legend that it’s a little daunting, but never the less a nice little pub, but will never become a regular hangout.
