  • Replacing the ill-fated Planet K and Ascension, Mint Lounge is a great little club popping up in the heart of the northern quarter in 2004. Sexy, sometimes seedy but always funky, this underground bar is worth visiting if you don’t quite fit in at the usual bars and clubs.  Like many other clubs, the door policy forbids trackies and caps so it’s worth putting on your coolest going out gear when heading to mint lounge. The music in here is great and extremely varied with soul, r’n'b, jazz, funk, reggae, house and even kraut rock enjoying regular nights. There’s a good selection of drinks on offer and all are reasonably priced. Mint also hosts some live bands with Manchester label’s Blood & Fire and Grand Central Recordings regularly showcasing their acts.
