Prohibition - 2-10 St Mary’s Street, Manchester, M3 2LB map
- Prohibition is the sister bar to the Living Room and is located just off Deansgate down the side of House Of Fraser (or Kendals as its known to most Mancunians) in the venue that once held the likes of Bar 10 and Bar Coast. The name was taken from 1920’s America when alcohol was illegal and had to be smuggled into the country from Mexico. The mixing of flavours and liquors was needed to hide the taste of the inferior booze creating the ‘Cocktail’. Prohibition focuses on the art of cocktail making and shooters and is a great place to sample some of the best in town.

Had some excellent nights out here, great bar staff, great cocktails, great music all in all wicked night out especially Saturday’s
Sally is dead right - a great night out. Great midweek offers too.
Head here every year on Xmas Eve for cocktails. Staff are helpful and snappy with the tricks. Only downside is the doormen can be quite snooty and make up excuses to not let you in.
