- Opened in 1991 during the height of Madchester, The Brickhouse is regarded by many as one of the best indie clubs in the city. The club specialises in indie music with some dance and pop classics thrown in for good measure. Inside it is quite small, but the atmosphere is always friendly and relaxed. Friday night’s playlist includes a mix of indie and 60’s, 70’s and 80’s pop classics, with no two weeks having the same playlist. Saturday is Parklife night, Manchester’s longest running indie night, playing classic indie tunes, modern classics and superb album tracks – steering clear of all that teen guitar-noise and plastic pop tunes other clubs label as ‘indie’. Very cheap drinks offers run every night.
