Jabez Clegg - 2 Portsmouth Street, Manchester, M13 9GB map
In the heart of the Manchester University Campus you’ll find the pub/club Jabez Clegg, a popular student hangout. Like it’s one-time city centre sister bar, Joshua Brooks, it’s named after the loveable character in GL Bank’s superb ‘Manchester Man’ novel. It’s a great place for a daytime drink, to enjoy some food or play a game of pool or table football. They also boast a big screen tv for match days with premiership plus and sky sports playing the games. Being so close to the University means that night times are busy with students meeting up and having a few drinks – Thursday nights are popular when live bands play and Friday is the indie and dance anthem club night. On Saturday’s Jabez Clegg becomes host to Manchester’s famous ‘The Bop’ – two dancefloors and non-stop partying with girls drinking free from 9.30pm till 1o.30pm!
