The OX - 71 Liverpool Road, Castlefield, Manchester, M3 4NQ map
- Dating as far back as 1804 in it’s previous guise as The Oxnoble, The Ox is a great little pub and restaurant opposite the Museum of Science & Industry in Castlefield. Don’t be put off by the rather uninviting boarded windows, on the inside you’ll find a warm and inviting atmosphere, sumptuous sofa’s and traditional old world pub style, offering good beers and great food. Winner of the Independent Newspaper Gastro Pub of the Year 2005, it’s a pub well worth checking out. Outside is a very small seating area for a few people to soak up the sun (not that Manchester gets much). Being close to Granada Studios, you’ll also find the occassional star in here, reading their scripts or enjoying a pint after filming.
- Real Ale
- Gastro Pub (British)
