Baa Bar, Deansgate Locks - Arch 11, Deansgate Locks, Whitworth Street, Manchester, M1 5LH map
- Baa Bar is the chain of North West bars created by popular Manchester property company Urban Splash. Hot on the heels of their Liverpool branch, the Deansgate Locks offering was their first in Manchester city centre (another has since opened in the Gay Village), and it has remained popular for well over 10 years. It has recently had a refurbishment, losing the disgusting uni-sex toilets in favour of a more intimate upstairs area and better seating on the ground floor. They haven’t however lost their superb famous shooters, which are so ridiculously cheap, and the many offers on bottles – it makes Baa Bar a binge drinkers paradise! The DJ’s spin funky house tunes, chart hits, disco classics and Madchester anthems whilst the bouncer’s are a lot friendlier than some of the others nearby. Whilst other bars on The Locks tend not to be as busy as they once were, Baa Bar remains crammed at weekends and the comfy sofa’s get taken up quickly!

I was refused entry on the 3rd March 2007 because I was dressed too casually and I was wearing trainers.
Simple – don’t wear trainers – if you are on a night out – make an effort!
Two of my friends and I are looking for a venue to celebrate our birthday on 12th July (SAT) for approx 30 people, is there a room/area available?
i went there last saturday, it wasnt a very good choice… u have to know before u order the drink, that shooters only look nice, but in reality it is a cheap shit!! they are using the cheapest versions of alcohols, ie vodka is 18% alc.I was pissed of when they gave me a glass with lipstick on.
My advice would be dont go here, at least if you do check ur change. It was the first bar i went in on saturday got 2 shots and a drink comeing to five pounds. I paid with a twenty pound note. I was given five pound change. I said i gave you a twenty he argued and said id have to write my details down n they would phone me tommorow. I asked for the manager, Who was full of his own importance to say the least. He started to shout at me saying i was a lier. I had only got 30 pound for the night and they ripped me off ten pounds so be very careful here.
regardless of these few bad things that happened baa bar is a fun place to be , granted its not the best place to spend the whole night , but probably the best place to start , get some cheap drinks , meet up with friends and then all move onto to somewhere abit heavier … its good , give it a try
