We have stayed at the Hilton and visited the bar on a few occasions and love the view but sadly the service of staff lets the whole experience down! The staff who greet you at the elevator and request that you queue (even when you are staying at the hotel) are abrupt and condescending. The bar staff are sadly no more refined or professional, one round of drinks took them over half an hour to bring to our table?

Dont waste your time and effort going, i went in expecting some trendy bar, it was more like my grandma's living room, looking over a shamless set! best bit about it was the free peanuts! and the lift journey back to ground floor-enjoy!

I found the q OK. Book a table beforehand and it goes a lot smoother. The drinks wern't worth the money but the views not bad. Good to make a nice impression for a night out before heading off somwhere in castlefield

I went to Cloud 23 for the first time last week after hearing rave reviews about it. I was absolutely disgusted at the service and will never go or recommend this bar to anyone. I arrived at the bar and after waiting about ten minutes to place my order, I walked out. There was one bartender working extremely hard whilst the rest of them were throwing olives across the bar, laughing, and just generally being immature. Not one of them acknowledged my presence or even smiled at me.

Called into Cloud 23 last night (Thurs 30/11/06) - I've been in a few times before and have always been left annoyed at their ridiculous queueing system. Everytime I've been, they've made you queue in the lobby like smartly-dressed cattle supposedly until a free table upstairs becomes available. When you eventually get up there you notice how empty the place is and you were made to queue unnecessarily. Last night though the queue moved quicker and suprisingly it was really busy. We were sat in the lounge area which offers the better views (the big wheel, town hall, Castlefield and Old Trafford) and allows you to walk over the glass floor looking down at the swimming pool below.

The table waiters were superb, all Mancunian, very friendly and unpretentious. The funky jazzy lounge music provided the perfect soundtrack and the no smoking policy allows you to taste the full flavour of the cocktails - which, admittedily were not cheap at £7.50. I opted for a gorgeous Sally Cinnamon, long drink also at £7.50. With Peroni at £3.75 a bottle, liquers at £6 and house wine at £6 for a small glass it's not the cheapest place in town but it is arguably the best - provided they can sort out the stupid queuing system!
