  • Next door to Manchesters Key 103 & Piccadilly radio stations is Lava Cafe Bar, a great chilled out little bar with a Mediterranean feel to it. Offering drinks at great prices and a fanastic food menu which includes the famous Hot Rock’s, allowing you to cook your own steak, chicken or swordfish at your table on a hot volcanic rock (not to be missed).  There’s a great pizza menu, with the volcanic theme continuing, each pizza named after a famous Volcano.  The toppings reflect the regional cuisine of it’s location and there’s even an amazing Arthur’s Seat Pizza, with a Scottish topping of haggis and black pudding.  The staff are very friendly and the roaring fire is very welcoming… albeit it’s on a large flatscreen lcd television screen.  It’s popular with the gay crowd and being next door to Key 103 there’s often big name popstars or celebrity DJ’s enjoying a drink here, including Justin Moorhouse (Phoenix Nights).  Take That’s Jason Orange, Radio 2 DJ Mike Harding and a number of Coronation Street stars all have apartments upstairs, and that’s where you’ll also find the ManchesterBars.com office!
  • Food (Pizza, European, English breakfast)
  • Quiz Nights (sunday)
  • Gay friendly

    Are you really closed……?
We came for a drink a few weeks ago and have been planning to return for a meal, once we finished work ,which is this weekend. We lobed the quieter , more mature atmosphere away from Dukes.
